Quote of the Week 1/6

“Growing apart doesn't change the fact that for a long time we grew side by side; our roots will always be tangled. I'm glad for that.”

Quote of the Week 12-16

-

I can't even count how many books that I have like this.  The Time Traveler's Wife, Water for Elephants, The Hunger Games, and Divergent are just a few. I love when I can just pick up a book, flip to any page, and just be caught back up in that feeling I had the first time I read it.

Quote of the Week: 12/8

"I read once about a kind of fungus that grows in trees. The fungus begins to encroach on the systems that carry water and nutrients up from the roots to the branches. It disables them one by one – it crowds them out. Soon, the fungus – and only the fungus – is carrying the water, and the chemicals, and everything else the tree needs to survive. At the same time it is decaying the tree slowly from within, truning it minute by minute to rot.
That is what hatred is. It will feed you and at the same time turn you to rot."
— Lauren Oliver (Pandemonium (Delirium, #2))

Quote of the Week: 12/2

“How many slams in an old screen door? Depends how loud you shut it. How many slices in a bread? Depends how thin you cut it. How much good inside a day? Depends how good you live 'em. How much love inside a friend? Depends how much you give 'em.”  - Shel Silverstein

Quote of the Week : 11/11

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.  ~Anna Quindlen, "Enough Bookshelves," New York Times, 7 August 1991

Quote of the Week: 10/21

"Fairy tales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten."
— G.K. Chesterton

Ive seen this quote pop up in numerous places before: On an episode of Criminal Minds, and the first couple of pages of "Coraline" by Neil Gainman. i feel this quote captions many of the books i read. I read mostly books that do or can have some kind of "monster" in it, whether it be a literal dragon or and evil or malicious person. Whatever the situation i learn from books that they can be beaten. What do you think about this quote , and where else have you see in ?

Quote of the Week : 10/14

"Some books should be tasted, some devoured, but only a few should be chewed and digested thoroughly."
― Cornelia Funke, Inkheart

To me, a book I've tasted would probably books or series I started and never finished.  Some devoured would be the books I read through so fast because I had to know what was coming next.  But the few that should be chewed and digested thoroughly, those are the ones I take my time and even read again to better understand motives and find clues that I may have missed before.
What are your examples of such books?Comment below.

Quote of the Week 10/6

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
― Marcus Tullius Cicero

I've seen this quote around a couple of times, and i love it! it is so true. this is partly why i can't commit 100% to reading solely by E-readers. I like the idea of having a spectacular library... which is also something i have been thinking of recently! i need a new bookshelf. below are some of my favorite picks from amazon! what do you think, do you read via e-reader, or do you have to have the physical book? - Katie @ Inkk

Quote of the Week 9/30

"May the odds be ever in your favor."
— Suzanne Collins (The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1))

I find myself using this phrase all the time. Need to make a good grade on the test today? May the odds be ever in your favor. Looking for the right outfit for the job interview? May the odds be ever in your favor. You get the point. What are you doing today that you need the odds in your favor?

Quote of the Week

The difference between the almost right word & the right word is really a large matter--it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning. ~Mark Twain, 1888

Pinterest Inspired Fridays - DIY "Book" Shelves

I thought i would bring a new tradition to Inkk, and since Krisha and Myself both have the same amount of love for Pintrest as we do for books, we though we could combine the two. So every Friday i will post a Book inspire DIY, craft, project, or maybe just a really sweet library or book nook. you never know , with it being the weekend, you might just get inspired to start crafting.

I think these book shelves are AMAZING! all you need is hinge, or a crummy inexpensive wall mount, and show off those great books! Great Idea! Click Here to take you straight to the site on Pinterest to find out more! Have a great Weekend - Katie @Inkk
