Fifty years ago the Commander came into power and murdered all who opposed him. In his warped mind, the seven deadly sins were the downfall of society. He created the Hole where sinners are branded according to their sins and might survive a few years. At best.
Now LUST wraps around my neck like blue fingers strangling me. I’ve been accused of a crime I didn’t commit and now the Hole is my new home.
Darkness. Death. Violence. Pain.
Now every day is a fight for survival. But I won’t die. I won’t let them win.
The Hole can’t keep me. The Hole can’t break me.
I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter.
My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story.

My Thoughts
Branded grabbed my attention from the very beginning.
It was very easy to get hooked on this book right off the bat! It begins with Lexi, a young girl about to take her life, when she is arrested and taken to go live in the Hole. The Hole is a place where sinners go. You don't have to be convicted of a crime, just accused of one, which really is awful ! Right off the bat you are labeled with a colored neck tattoo that indicates your "sin". Lexi gets branded with a Blue tattoo which indicates that her sin was Lust, she is innocent of course but none of that matters. Branded was very easy to read as you are swept away in Lexi's dilemma of surviving in the Hole. Without giving out any spoilers, there is a lot more to why she is in the Hole in the first place, and who else is in there with her.
Branded definitely had some surprising twist that I definitely didn't see coming in the end. Some parts towards the end I wasn't fan of, and some things didn't add up for me, or come into play when I thought they should, but perhaps these are things that will be addressed in the next book in the series. Over all I thought it was a good read.
