Top Ten Favorite Authors In YA Genre
# 1 Stephanie Meyer
Katie: I absolutly love the Twilight series and i do credit this series as "the books that got me reading". I haven't read a book of her's that i haven't loooved including "The Host" and "The Short Second Hand Life of Bree Tanner".# 2 & 3 Rick Riordan
Krisha: He tops my list because he has written so many books that are so witty and clever. Love them! Check out our review HERE for more reasons why we love the Percy Jackson series and HERE to view a previous TTT on why I'd like to meet him.Katie : not sure if "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" or "The Heros of Olympus" is classified as Young Adult ( might be labeled as middle school ) but it counts in my book, emphasis on the word "young". Rick Riordan is one of those authors on my automatic read list.
# 4 & 5 Suzanne Collins
Katie: "The Hunger Games" is a series that i will never forget, so great and so hard to top. A must read for everyone, YA or not!
Krisha: I agree with Katie. The best thing about Collin's work on the Hunger Games is that guys, girls, young (well, not too young), and old can all read this book. It's not too girly or immature.
# 6 & 7 J.L. Bryan
Katie: I am a new fan! was turned on to Bryan's Covenant series by Loretta @ Between The Pages, and i have been hooked ever since. a great YA Series, not to mention book #1 "Jenny Pox" is free for your Kindle or E-reader!Krisha: J.L. Bryan- He's a favorite because not only do I love his Jenny Pox series but he seems to be a pretty cool. With us ladies @ Inkk being new to the blog world, Bryan has been awesome to include us in a cover reveal and gave us our first ARC. Thanks! Follow us on Twitter to see our conversations with Bryan and other authors.
# 8 & 9 Veronica Roth
Katie: author of the amazing "Divergent" series this is a must read for all YA readers out there. epic! I am super impressed with Roth as an author, 24 years old and her debut novel "Divergent" made #1 on the NY Times best seller list! no where to go but awesome!Krisha : Veronica Roth- Epic, for sure!!! When this series finally hits the big screen, it's going to knock your socks off!
# 10. Judy Bloom
Krisha: I'm going a little old school here, but when I actually was considered a young adult, I was always reading a book by her and I would have called her my fav back then.
Great list - I've read most of these authors, though Veronica Roth is near the top of my to-read list because I've heard so many good things about her books!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah for sure, i am 100% certain you will love the divergent series! thanks for stopping by!

Great choices! I love Roth and Collins - definitely the best dystopian out there right now.
ReplyDeleteJudy Blume is definitely a Queen of YA. I still think about some of the scenes in Superfudge, Fudge-a-mania, and Are You There, God, It's Me, Margaret?
