Top Ten 2013 Debuts

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by

Broke and The Bookish

This Week's Topic is:

Top Ten 2013 Debuts we're looking forward to

#1 The Madman's Daughter - Megan Shepherd

Krisha - If you have been locked in dungeon and not heard of this book, click the link RIGHT NOW!!!  In exactally two weeks this book will be in my hands.  Everything about this plot is amazing.  Plus it is slated to be at least a trilogy, so we will get to read a lot more of Shepherd's amazing story.

#2 Dualed - by Elise Chapman

Katie: wow! everyone has a twin raised by someone else and they have to dual each other at the age of twenty.. only one can survive ! crazy stuff. unique plot!

#3 My Name is Rapunzel - K.C. Hilton

Krisha:  "Fairy tales are for children. My name is Rapunzel and I will tell you my story. I will tell you the truth."  This is all that is listed on Goodreads.  Very mysterious.  But, as mentioned in previous posts, I do love a good retelling.

#4 POD's - Michelle K. Pickett

Katie: I don't know why but i am so drawn to books where people have to survive under ground. Love it .

#5 Starglass - Phoebe North

Krisha: This book sounds intense to say the least.  I love that the girl is a botanist (that makes her a bajillion times cooler in my book) and she sounds like she is going to kick some serious booty.

#6 Level 2 - Lenore Appelhans

Katie: Interesting! at first i thought it was about a game, or something like that, but it looks like "level 2" is kind of like a Limbo, a world between heaven and earth. sounds good !

#7 The Falconer - Elizabeth May

Krisha: I was drawn to this debut by the title.  I've read up on falconry, so I hope May does a reasonable job of explaining what it is to people that don't know.  This book is set in 1844 and in Scotland which is a change of pace from my typical read.  DId I mention the Fae?  Oh, yeah, we got those pointy eared jerks too.  Why are they always up to no good???

#8 Altered - Jennifer Rush

Katie- I don't know why I like this so much,  I  liked the summary, got me really excited to read it. Running away from bad guys with a genetically altered cutie... im interested ;)

#9 Strands of Bronze and Gold - Jane Nickerson

Krisha : I'll admit that I was drawn to the cover of this book.  Much to my surprise, I discovered that it is a update to modern times and retelling of the french folklore "Bluebeard" (basic premise: Bad, rich dude marries young maiden.  He offed his previous wives.  She figures this out.  How will it all end???)  I'm not quite sure how this will span out as a trilogy, but I'll  let you know how it goes.

#10 Reboot - Amy Tintera

Katie : I stumbled across Reboot and thought it was awesome , and refreshing to have the female the stronger protective character, she may have to rescue the guy in the end.. new twist in tradition !
