Goodreads Summary

After leaving Society to desperately seek The Rising, and each other, Cassia and Ky have found what they were looking for, but at the cost of losing each other yet again. Cassia is assigned undercover in Central city, Ky outside the borders, an airship pilot with Indie. Xander is a medic, with a secret. All too soon, everything shifts again.

Condie's writing was beautiful, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book with its 3 POV's. Usually that is not something I like. Even thought the end of the book was engaging and quick, the first half was slow, and I just expected more.

Let me start by summing up the rest of the series first. I really enjoyed Matched ( Book #1 in the series ) I thought it was a new twist on Dystopian societies. I liked how they defined their Society, The match banquet, the final banquet, all the rules that went along with it. Of course I also liked the love triangle between Xander, Cassia and Ky. After book 1, I was hooked on the series!

Then Crossed came along ( Book 2 ) and it was ok, I wasn't turning the pages in anticipation but I thought it was ok. It was what I expected out of a second book in a series. ( they tend to be the slower,  tie in between the exciting start and finish ) For the most part Cassia was looking for Ky, and I liked the Journey through the Carving together.

Ok, now finally to Reached ( the highly anticipated book 3 ). I was so excited to read Reached, The rebellion was finally going to make their move, Ky and Cassia were going to be together.. all the awesomeness I hoped for.. However, Reached fell a little short for me. For starters, the first half of the book ( and yes, I read it on my kindle, it was EXACTLY 50% ) was slow to me. Not one of our three main characters were near each other. There was zero interaction between Ky, Xander , and Cassia for the first half. I also thought the Rebellion take over was too easy. The second half of the book picked up a little bit, and I am happy with how it ended, and who ended up with who ( don't want to give too much away ).

  1. I'm trying to push through this one right now. I will finish it, but it will be slooooow going. I'm glad to hear it picks up at the halfway point. I'm hoping Cassia ends up with Xander, but I'm preparing myself to be disappointed because I doubt that's how things will go. Sigh.

Also, I love how you used the colors for each book title (I see what you did there!).
