Krisha’s Thoughts :
When I saw Jenny Pox as a free book on my kindle, I decided to go read the reviews and see what it was all about. And here was yet another story about a girl who can’t touch anyone, will never find love, blah blah. Kind of like Rogue from X-men or Juliette from Shatter Me (by Tahereh Mafi). Unoriginal, for sure. But it’s a free book and you can’t look a gift horse in the mouth, right? Wrong!
If you get a gift horse and those teeth are a bright, shiny white, you tell people about how awesome it is. And that’s how Jenny Pox was for me. I loved this book and am excited to read the next 3 in the series! The setting is recent and feels real. The emotions that Bryan writes about, any girl could resonate with. Jenny is a weak girl for most of the book, but when the Jenny Pox is unleashed, it’s amazing. The book has a good pace to it, it kept me intrigued and wondering. I can’t think of really any other books to compare this to because the supernatural aspect isn’t so in-your-face like a lot of the other popular books out there. I do put a caution on here. It does have some foul language and one or two parts that are not appropriate for tweens. Definitely one for the bookshelf!

Thoughts:
I love love
love this book! It was actually Loretta @ Between the pages that recommended it
to me, and I’m not going to lie when she said “free”, I thought “ this can’t be
that good”, but oh my goodness I was in for a shock !
Like Krisha, I
also thought we had seen our fill of girls that couldn’t be touched; Juliette
from “Shatter Me” , and also Rouge from “X-men” … ok that one is a comic book/
tv-show/movie.
Jenny Pox was
so different. Yes our main girl that we root for is Jenny, but there is so
much more hiding behind the surface than just Jenny herself, Bryan lays out a
foundation for a killer series! So good! A MUST READ … and did we mention its free! Click the link above if you haven’t
read it already and read it on your Kindle if you have one, or if not read it
from your phone or computer!
This makes me happy! Seeing as how it's my favorite Indie book, Ever! =D
ReplyDeleteI have this one on my kindle. I may have picked it up for free, but its been there so long I have no recollection of how I originally obtained it. I'm excited you like it so much. It motivates me to read it sooner than later. Thanks for the great reviews.
ReplyDeleteyes it is so good ! what a great series, and i wouldn't have read it had it not been for Loretta From Between the pages recommending it. I don't know why but it takes ALOT for people to pick up a free book. ( me included ) I think its the same as any free things. you kinda think " dang it must not be good" but yes, check it out! I think its free so you can get hooked and buy the other three books in the series, which im sure you will. I have read all four book, but im waiting on Krisha to catch up and finish 3 and 4 so we can review those together. Thank again Gina commenting! your awesome! - Katie @ Inkk
