Perfect for the fans of Shatter Me who are desperately awaiting the release of Unravel Me, this novella-length digital original will bridge the gap between these two novels from the perspective of the villain we all love to hate, Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

In Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me, Juliette escaped from The Reestablishment by seducing Warner—and then putting a bullet in his shoulder. But as she’ll learn in Destroy Me, Warner is not that easy to get rid of. . .
Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.
Set after Shatter Me and before its forthcoming sequel, Unravel Me, Destroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

My Review

Destroy me is Warner's POV right after Juliette escaped....

Woah! Let me start by saying it has been a while since I read Shatter Me. I read it when it still had the original cover. Destroy Me brought back awesome feelings and reminded me why I loved this series soooo much! We get a lot of insight on Warner in Destroy Me;  about his past, his feelings for Juliette, his reasoning for the way he acted with her and in the past as the leader of Sector 45. This Novella did an amazing job trying to lure me into feeling bad for Warner.
Klaus from Vampire Diaries

He reminds me of the character Klaus off of Vampire Diaries ( So sorry for those of you who do not watch this show, It rocks!) He is such a bad guy, but then you get so much input about his past, and see him do a not so horrible thing here and there, and next thing you know you find yourself liking him... Or at least not hating him.

I so loved that Tahereh Mafi wrote this from Warners point of view so that I could "Kinda Love" "Kinda Hate" him too! Destroy Me was so good, I could not put it down. Did I feel bad for Warner, see why he did the things he did, understand him? YES ! But do I want him to be with Juliette ? NO...but I wouldn't mind seeing him try.

I think Juliette could infact make him a better person. He could be kinder and softer if he had a reason to, but he is not right for her.

Shatter Me by Tahereh MafiWhat do you think? Are you Team Warner or Adam? Let me know in the Comments below. I can't wait to read Unravel me!

  1. from reading Destroy Me and then Unravel Me.. I now don't know who I want her to end up with.. however the less heartbreaking (doesn't mean it WONT be heartbreaking) is if she ends up with Warner.. dunno but I guess because I feel like I know Warner much more than Adam now..
    great review,

  2. yeah thats true.. i wish they could have a novella for adam to give us a little more insight into his thoughts. I think Adam is better for juliette thought.. but i do feel bad for warner as well. but your right it might just be heartbreaking either way. Thanks for your thoughts Juhina ! can't wait to read Unravel me !!! - Katie

  3. Oh nice! Backtracking with reviews since I just started this series this last week and have ordered the novellas in print format along with book 2! Read good things about this one and Warner! In the beginning everyone was all over Warner and now I broke to see what this guy is all about. Wasn't too thrilled with him in Shatter Me, but looking forward to getting inside his head! Off to read your review for Unravel Me! Great mini review here!

  4. no i HATED Warner in Shatter me.. he was horrible.. but I don't know how Mafi did it but somehow i ended up liking him.. this is just so unheard of for me.. even in Destroy me I still wasn't on team Warner .. even though i could tell thats what they were trying to get me to do with the whole " lets hear warners side of the story " but somewhere in Unravel me it happened.. yes this series is amazing and it just gets better and better. definitely does not suffer from second book-iris ! can't wait to chat more after you read unravel me and see what you think!!!! - Katie
