REVIEW: The Lunar Chronicles Novellas

No Surprise here I LOVE NOVELLAS. They are a great way to to jam pack a lot of background character information is a short number of pages.. short and sweet and to the point. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer is MY FAVORITE SERIES, and here are my reviews for the three Novellas currently available for the series! Can't wait for more!

Glitches ( Lunar Chronicles # 0.5 )

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. In Glitches, a short prequel story to Cinder, we see the results of that illness play out, and the emotional toll that takes on Cinder. Something that may, or may not, be a glitch...

This was a great prequel to Cinder. It gave me great insight of Cinder's earlier years when she first went to live with her new family. True Cinderella beginnings. A quick and easy read! 5 Stars

The Little Android ( Lunar Chronicles # 0.6 )

The Little Android is a retelling of The Little Mermaid, set in the world of The Lunar Chronicles by New York Times-bestselling author Marissa Meyer.

When android Mech6.0, saves the life of a handsome hardware engineer, her body is destroyed and her mechanics discover a glitch in her programing. Androids aren’t not meant to develop unpractical reasoning or near-emotional responses…let alone fall in love

The Little Android is probably my favorite of the three Lunar Chronicles Novellas. There are some major feels in this short story. The Little Android is set in the same world as The Lunar Chronicles and follows a small android named Mech6.0. She finds herself being different from all the other drone like androids, something is wrong with her.. she has a "glitch". She has has irrational feelings and emotions, especially when it comes to the handsome hardware engineer. This truly is an original and amazing retelling of The Little Mermaid... just a futuristic, drone falls in love with a human only has 3 days to live in a different body kind of re-telling. I don't know if any more of this story will come into play in the future Lunar Chronicles books, but Cinder does play a small role in helping Mech6.0 in this story before her story begins in Cinder.  5 Stars

The Queen's Army ( Lunar Chronicles # 1.5 )

It is time. The boy must leave his family to serve in the Queen's army. To be chosen is an honor. To decline is impossible. The boy is modified. He is trained for several years, and learns to fight to the death. He proves to the Queen—and to himself—that he is capable of evil. He is just the kind of soldier the Queen wants: the alpha of his pack.

I always enjoy Novellas, they tend to offer a lot of character insight in a short number of pages. The Queen's Army gave me a lot more insight into the allusive and mysterious Wolf's past. How he was once a normal boy before he was modified, how he had to live with other modified boys and fight to survive.  It wasn't my favorite of the three Lunar Chronicles Novellas, but I definitely enjoyed reading it.  4 Stars
